Altogether 101 patients died of a Covid-related illness over the past 72 hours, while 5,961 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.

The number of active infections has decreased to 97,280, while hospitals are treating 1,833 Covid-19 patients, 49 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 45,611 deaths have been recorded, while 1,860,159 have been registered with the virus. Fully 1,717,268 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,403,425 people have received a first jab, while 6,188,501 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,848,282 Hungarians have received a booster jab and 267,472 have also received the fourth dose.

There are 7,540 people in official quarantine, while 11,158,930 tests have been officially carried out.
