Altogether 29 patients died of a Covid-related illness over the past 24 hours, while 1,407 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Wednesday.

The number of active infections has decreased to 75,954, while hospitals are treating 1,603  Covid-19 patients, 47 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 46,000 deaths have been recorded, while 1, 885,865 have been registered with the virus. Fully 1,763,911 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,405,260 people have received a first jab, while 6,191,018 have been double-jabbed. Fully 3,857,450 Hungarians have received a booster third shot and 279,644 a fourth shot.

There are 1,715 people in official quarantine, while 11,278,894 tests have been officially carried out.
