Fully 103 people with Covid-19 symptoms died last week, while 4,749 new infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said in a weekly release of data on Wednesday.

The number of active infections stands at 37,448, while hospitals are caring for 742 Covid-19 patients, 21 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the start of the coronavirus epidemic, 1,914,697 people have been officially confirmed as having contracted the virus, while the number of deaths has risen to 46,446. Fully 1,830,803 people have made a recovery.

Altogether 6,408,742 people have been vaccinated, with 6,194,964 having received a second jab, 3,872,440 a third, and 295,989 a fourth.

There are 694 people in official quarantine, while 11,394,556 tests have been officially carried out.

In view of improving numbers, the government website announced last week it will publish pandemic-related data only once a week from May.
