Hungary and China have signed a new aviation agreement, which could double the number of flights between the two countries, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in Ningbo on Tuesday.

Speaking at the China-CEEC Forum, the minister welcomed the fact that from now on, there will be 42 flights per week between China and Hungary instead of 21, and it will apply to both passenger and freight transport.

The economic and trade cooperation between Hungary and China is breaking records, and it is necessary to speed up the transport of goods. Hungary is already the entry point for Chinese freight traffic to Central Europe,”

he pointed out. The minister also said that during the talks, the parties agreed on the importance of developing the Budapest-Belgrade railway line and meeting the 2025 target date. “This investment will contribute to ensuring that the increasing amount of Chinese goods entering Greek ports will reach the northern and western parts of Europe via Hungary,” he emphasized.
