Capital’s Brand New Luxury Hotel Opens in Buda for Guests with Deep Pockets

The Kimpton brand, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts‘ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, has debuted its first unit in the Hungarian market. The Kimpton BEM Budapest Hotel opened on the site of the former Radetzky Barracks on Bem Square in District 2. The boutique hotel has a total of 127 rooms and its interior design is the work of the world-renowned Dutch firm Marcel Wanders, writes Turizmus.com.

“The Kimpton BEM Budapest will be a hideaway for relaxed, hedonistic living and gastronomy,” stressed Sándor Scheer, CEO of Market Építő, at the opening.

The interior design concept is by the world-famous Marcel Wanders office, which has created unique interiors with its bold use of form, materials and color effects.

Throughout the hotel visitors can find typical Hungarian motifs such as poppies and tulips.

Guests can expect elegant decor and surprising details in the 127 rooms. Of the 11 suites, the two most luxurious are the Cosmos and Observatory Suites: two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen, all within 120 square meters per suite.

The 5th floor Presidential Suite (Observatory Suite) also boasts an 82-square-meter private roof deck.

Prices for a night in the luxury boutique hotel start at HUF 91,775 (EUR 235) and range up to HUF 319,860 (EUR 818) depending on the facilities and services (e.g. breakfast). Prices for suites are between HUF 1,197,625 (EUR 3,062) and HUF 2,219,900 (EUR 5,676) per night.

The hotel offers three gastronomic units. The AGOS restaurant, under the direction of executive chef Attila Fehér, offers innovative Mediterranean cuisine with a Hungarian touch. The rooftop Fennen offers a wonderful panorama of Buda and Pest, while the Bar Huso on the ground floor is inspired by the legend of the beluga sturgeon, the mystical inhabitant of the Danube.

Kimpton BEM Budapest offers venues for both large-scale and intimate events, one of which can accommodate up to 120 guests.

The boutique hotel also has a wellness area with a fitness center, a jacuzzi and a steam bath, which is open all year round. In addition, the three-level underground garage is equipped with electric car chargers.
