The skating season starts at 5 p.m. on Friday at the City Park Ice Rink in the capital, offering a varied program of activities again this year.
Last season, 260,000 people visited the facility – an increase of around six percent compared to the previous season – and a record number of visitors: 8,654 skaters took to the ice on a single day in December.
The operator of the ice rink, the Budapest Sports Service Provider, also informed MTI that it aims to further improve the high level of services available.
In addition to the skate rental service, also catering for extreme needs, and the rink-side gift shop, this year new food trucks and a selection of food and drinks will be added to enhance the comfort of visitors.
Online ticket sales began at 3 p.m. Monday on the facility’s website, where the public can also find out about hours of operation and future events. Tickets can also be purchased on site.
The opening day on Friday will include a military band, ice dancing, and a prize draw.
