Budapest Landmarks Included in Latest Developments of Google Maps

Hungary Today 2023.06.19.

Earlier this year, Google introduced Immersive View to revamp its map search. Developers used artificial intelligence to fuse billions of images to create a multi-dimensional view of the world’s landmarks and provide users with a wealth of useful information.

The company recently made the service available in four new cities (Amsterdam, Dublin, Florence, Venice) and is in the process of expanding it to more than 500 iconic landmarks around the world.

Immersive View is now available for users in Hungary, allowing them to view the Parliament, Vajdahunyad Castle, Fishermen’s Bastion, Matthias Church, Széchenyi Chain Bridge, and St. Stephen’s Basilica in multidimensional mode on their smartphones (not on desktop).

All you have to do is search for the place you want to explore in the mobile version of Google Maps and

click on the first video to take a virtual tour of the building and see the sights nearby.

The time slider can also be used to check what the weather will be like in the near future and how busy the area is at certain times of the day.

Where more information is available, users can also take a look at restaurants and cafes and decide if they want to reserve a table. All of this is possible thanks to an advanced artificial intelligence technique called Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF), developed by Google.
