For the second time in two years, the Budapest airport has won the Best in Europe award in the category of airports handling 15-25 million passengers presented by the Airports Council International (ACI).

After 2022, passengers have once again voted Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport, which celebrates its 75th birthday this year, the best in Europe, reports Világgazdaság. Justin Erbacci, Director General of ACI World, congratulated the operator, Budapest Airport, on its remarkable achievement in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards, part of the Airport Service Quality Survey.

He said that

the award is based on the votes of the passengers themselves, making Budapest Airport one of the best customer experiences globally.

Francois Berisot, CEO of Budapest Airport, said that winning the award is a great honor and source of pride, and the most important acknowledgement they could have received, as it is based on real-time feedback from passengers.

Every year, Budapest Airport participates in the international Airport Service Quality Survey, based on 37 criteria.

In 2024, the overall passenger satisfaction level exceeded four out of five in every quarter, and the top rated criteria regularly included the speed and smoothness of security screening, the friendliness of airport and security staff, and the orientation at the airport.

The survey, supported by travel technology company Amadeus, asked passengers at 400 airports around the world about the quality of service they received, ensuring that they had a fresh perspective on their passenger experience.
