Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport’s passenger numbers went up by 30 percent to over 796,000 in March from the previous month in a post-Covid and seasonal demand, the airport operator said on Tuesday.
The figure for last month reflects a thirteen-fold increase compared with March in 2021, Budapest Airport (BA) said in a statement.
There are 29 airlines currently operating direct flights to 91 destinations from Budapest which is 80 percent of the pre-pandemic level, it said, noting that new destinations such as Abu Dhabi, Aqaba, Kaunas, Lappeenranta, Malta, Shannon and Torino have been added to the original list of destinations.
In March, the most popular destinations were Tel Aviv, London and Dubai, BA said.
