Shooting for Brad Pitt’s new Formula 1 movie has begun in Silverstone in the UK, and will continue in Hungary at the Hungaroring (racing track between Budapest and Gödöllő).
Brad Pitt has recently started shooting his Formula 1 movie, Apex, in Silverstone. In the film, the actor plays racing driver Sonny Hayes, returning from retirement, who meets up-and-coming talent Joshie Pearce, played by Damson Idris, reports instylemen.hu.
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton will play a key role in technical support as executive producer.
Filming began recently at the British Grand Prix, where the team featured in the film is housed in a separate garage and laps are taken on the Silverstone tarmac in modified Formula 2 cars.
The Oscar-winning American actor co-stars with Damson Idris as the Apex drivers.

In addition to the Silverstone location, scenes for the film will also be shot at Circuit Paul Ricard, the French Grand Prix venue that is no longer part of Formula 1.
We were involved in the project from the beginning, and I remember that after the initial discussions we sent Brad to a French racing school where he was able to try out every single Formula car from Formula 4 onwards,”
said Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff, who is actively part of the filming.
In some scenes, Brad Pitt and Damson Idris sit in the car, but mostly professional drivers drive the cars. One is driven by 2012 Formula 2 champion Luciano Bacheta, and the other by former Super League driver Craig Dolby.
