BKV Buses Have Driven Thousands of KM Transporting Refugees

Tamás Vaski 2022.03.18.

BKV bus drivers have driven a total of nearly 13,000 kilometers in order to help in the transportation of refugees from Ukraine, Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony wrote on Facebook. They have contributed more than 2,500 work hours in “helping those who are escaping Putin’s aggression.”

Karácsony extended his praise to BKV employees for their extensive work so far. Everyday, the Budapest Transport Privately Held Corporation (BKV) ensures that 5-10 buses are available for transporting refugees, sometimes making longer trips into the countryside (Fonyód, Soltvadkert).
