The Fish Festival in Siófok, Harvest Festival in Balatonfüred, or the Pumpkin Festival in Balatonalmádi: Lake Balaton has many interesting programs on offer in October as well.

The pleasant autumn weather offers the opportunity to participate in various programs around Lake Balaton.
In Siófok, on the south shore, the Fish Festival with gastronomic experiences, concerts, and various children’s programs will take place between October 15-17. The following weekend, between October 22-24, you can visit a gastronomic and art market with delicious food, drinks, and handicrafts at the “Autumn Picnic” in the harbor.
At the same time, in the opposite town of Balatonfüred, you can visit the Harvest Festival, where you can participate in interesting family programs, cooking competitions, and watch various concerts. A week later, between October 22-23, you can already taste the finest champagnes (Taittinger, Champagne Barons de Rothschild, Louis Roederer, Laurent Perrier) on the pier at the event, “Champagne Island.”
In the town of Balatonalmádi in the northeast, the Pumpkin Festival is organized on October 16, where families can carve pumpkin lanterns, taste pumpkin pie, and participate in a twilight hike.
Also this weekend, between October 16-17, the Chestnut Festival will be held in Keszthely in the west, where visitors can taste delicious chestnut dishes. For example, one can watch the preparation of a chestnut delicacy during a gastro show. Also in Keszthely, the Festetics Castle organizes an open day for brides and grooms, where you can get interesting tips for your wedding.
In neighboring Hévíz, Health Day, which falls on the national holiday of October 23rd, will feature various lectures on health, as well as delicious products from local farmers. In addition, on the same day, visitors can shop for cheaper in local stores during “Shopping Night.”
