Beethoven Series Continues with World-Famous Pianist’s Concert in Budapest

On April 17, the Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra will continue its Beethoven series at the Liszt Academy with world-famous Spanish pianist, Javier Perianes. The concert will feature two piano concertos by the German master, conducted by a renowned guest conductor.

In a series of performances this season dedicated to the venerated First Viennese School, Javier Perianes will play Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major, Op. 15, with many of the world’s leading orchestras. The internationally acclaimed Spanish pianist has appeared in prestigious concert halls around the world as soloist with some of the world’s most renowned orchestras, alongside conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Charles Dutoit, Zubin Mehta, Gustavo Dudamel, Klaus Mäkelä, Gianandrea Noseda, and Gustavo Gimeno.

This season, Javier Perianes continues his Beethoven series with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, as well as performing contemporary works.

In 2012, he received the National Music Award (Premio Nacional de Música) from Spain’s Ministry of Culture, and in 2019, he was named Artist of the Year by the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA). He has performed in distinguished concert series throughout the world, having made appearances in New York City’s Carnegie Hall, the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Madrid’s Auditorio Nacional, Palau in Barcelona, recitals at the Ravinia and Gilmore International Piano Festivals in Chicago, Festival International de Piano de la Roque d’Anthéron in France, and the Konzerthaus in Berlin.

The Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra’s series of season-long concerts focuses on Beethoven, which began with Symphony No.2 at the December concert, continued with Piano Concerto No.4 and Symphony No.7 in February.

Now, the first and third of the composer’s five piano concertos will be heard at the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy.
