Audi Chairman: Hungarians are the Secret to Success

Hungary Today 2023.05.16.

Alfons Dintner, Chairman of the Board of Audi Hungaria Győr, shared his thoughts about the country, Hungarians, and the key to success of Audi Hungaria on LinkedIn.

One of the main reasons for the 30-year success story of Audi Hungaria is that Hungary is home to particularly hardworking, passionate, and smart people, the CEO wrote.

This is the triad that makes our products and services so desirable. Diligence and passion are recognizably innate in the 50,000 people, our employees, suppliers, who work with or for us,

said Alfons Dintner.

The business leader stated that the Science and Innovation Park at Széchenyi István University in Győr is “celebrating its topping-out ceremony.” He pointed out that in Hungary, universities and companies are creating a common culture of innovation:

Today, around 80 percent of our 2,155 engineers received their education at our partner universities, more than half from the University of Győr.”

Dintner emphasized that Audi works “with the scientific landscape” through numerous collaborations, endowed chairs, and research and development projects. In the near future, the Science and Innovation Park will also address a number of future topics in the areas of digitalization, electrification, and sustainability, he emphasized. “Welcome, future!” he concluded his contribution.

Despite the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, raw material shortages, and the Ukrainian-Russian war, Audi Hungaria had a great result last year: in 2022, the engine plant produced 1,677,545 vehicle engines and 171,134 cars rolled off the production line, while the company generated 8.436 billion euros in revenue and invested 220 million euros.

This brings the total investment since the company was founded to 12.172 billion euros, making Audi Hungaria the largest investor in the Hungarian automotive industry.
