Another Chinese Car Brand to Enter the Domestic Market

Hungary Today 2025.05.14.

It is only a matter of months before Hungarians get access to another Chinese car brand, Leapmotor, which is ready to launch two models on the domestic market, reports vezess.hu.

In Hungary and in several countries of the Central European region, including the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, and Slovenia, the Emil Frey Group has acquired the import rights for Leapmotor, a Chinese brand offering electric and range-extended electric (REEV) vehicles.

Leapmotor, present in Europe since 2023, will continue its expansion in the domestic market with two models, the compact T03 and the C10 SUV, which are expected to be launched in the third quarter.

In other European countries, 3,500 units of the two models were sold by February this year, with the T03 accounting for 85 percent of sales.

The T03 is an A-segment five-door city car with a B-segment interior, first launched in 2020. With 95 hp, a WLTP range of 265 kilometers, a rich equipment package, and comfortable drivability, it is expected to be popular on the Hungarian market.

The T03 features Level 2 autonomous driving capability, and is equipped with three external cameras and twelve radars.

Interior features include a TFT instrument cluster and a touchscreen.

The C10, launched in March 2024, is the first model of the company designed for global markets.

The electric SUV is based on the LEAP3.0 technology architecture, offering smart electric technologies including Cell-To-Chassis (CTC) technology and a smart dashboard.

The family vehicle in the D segment has more than 215 hp and can cover 420 kilometers on a single charge according to the WLTP test cycle. It received the highest score, five stars, in the Euro NCAP crash test.

In addition, the C10 is available with range-extended drive, meaning the wheels are always driven by a battery-powered electric motor. Meanwhile, there is also a petrol engine used as a generator, which kicks in at low voltage and charges the battery. It can travel up to 950 kilometers on a single charge.

According to the information currently available, prices for the Leapmotor T03 start from €18,900 in the other European countries where it is available, while the C10 model is offered from €36,400.
