One million forints (2,506 euros) in annual housing support for public service workers is on the way, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister explained that teachers, police officers, soldiers, nurses, doctors, and other civil servants will be able to use the subsidy to pay off their mortgages or make down payments on new homes.
As he announced,
the public debate on the Home Start Program had been concluded, and based on the proposals received, the fixed 3% home loan had been finalized on Wednesday. The government also discussed a new proposal for a new form of support for public service workers. The subsidy will be able to be combined with the Home Start Loan.
He also noted that the details would be worked out on Wednesday afternoon and that they hoped to make a decision in August. “The goal is clear: we want to give everyone in Hungary the opportunity to have their own home,” the Prime Minister said.
