On Easter Monday, the Hungarian Railway Museum will host its first major event of the season, which also serves as the official season opener. Families are once again invited to enjoy the Park’s full range of attractions: exciting programs, performances, and games promise all-day entertainment for visitors of all ages, published Index.
Europe’s largest interactive railway park will once again welcome spring with its now-traditional Easter celebration, marking the start of the 2025 season. Spanning 70,000 square meters, the Hungarian Railway Museum will be filled with colorful and diverse activities, offering full-day fun for both kids and adults.
At the debut event on April 21 (Easter Monday), concerts, puppet shows, and magic performances will bring excitement between 10 AM and 6 PM.
The Eszterlánc folk music band will take the stage at 11 AM, followed by the Ákom-Bákom puppet group with The Squirrel and the Magpie at 1 PM, and an interactive magic show by Ferenc Kőhalmi at 3 PM.
The Park’s most popular attractions will be available too: the garden railway, turntable, handcar, and the cheerfully chugging diesel locomotive. Easter bunnies will also be present, children can meet them at the petting zoo alongside ducks and ponies. Upon entry, each child will receive a “bunny booklet” that can be used in the Easter Bunny Hunt.
After answering a few questions and finding all the bunny stations, children will receive a guaranteed prize and be entered into a raffle for valuable book bundles.
Between bunny stops, the little ones can get face paint, glitter tattoos, or join craft workshops. The programs include painting styrofoam eggs, making keychains or pins. Standard ticket prices apply for the full-day event, which warmly welcomes everyone from grandparents to grandchildren.
“One of the most cherished events of the spring season is undoubtedly the Easter celebration, where we offer families a day full of adventures and interactive activities. We hope that our season-opening event will help make the holiday even more special for our visitors this year,” said Norbert Schvéd, Director of the Hungarian Railway Museum.
