The National Gugak Center will perform at the Erkel Theater as one of the European stops on its world tour. Before that, they will play Jongmyo jeryeak, the ritual music of the royal ancestors at the Confucian Jongmyo Shrine. Jongmyo jeryeak was inscribed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2001.

The 90-minute performance in Hungary involves 54 musicians and 18 dancers.

The Korean Cultural Center and the House of Traditions (Hagyományok Háza) will also host various workshops and symposiums on Korean music history and instruments. Experts from the Jintu National Gugak Center, founded in 2004, will introduce participants to the world of K-Gugak, a traditional Korean music and dance.

As part of the festival, the Korean Cultural Center will host the Korean Film Week, this time with two films focusing on Korean music and dance.

The event will also give an insight into the mysteries of Korean cuisine. Monk Jeong Kwan will talk to the audience about healthcare, respect for life, and the essence of Korean temple cuisine based on the concept of sustainability. The lecture will be broadcast live on the Internet.
