Gellért L. Kádár as János Hunyadi

The Hunyadi series (internationally distributed as Rise of Raven), which broke viewing records in Hungary, will have its North American premiere in the Primetime section at the Toronto Film Festival and will also be broadcast on a Canadian CBC streaming channel starting in September.

The Hunyadi series has already impressed audiences in Italy, Croatia, Germany, Slovakia, Switzerland, Israel, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic, but has also become hugely popular among young Austrian viewers.

The ten-part series about János Hunyadi, the Hungarian military commander who defeated the Ottoman Army and defended Europe in 1456, was made with the participation of more than 600 actors and stuntmen.

The Hunyadi show, produced with the support of the National Film Institute (NFI), is executive produced by Canadian-Hungarian producer Robert Lantos, with episodes directed by Oscar nominee and Emmy Award winner Robert Dornhelm and Attila Szász, Orsi Nagypál, and Balázs Lengyel.

In addition to Gellért L. Kádár in the title role, the main roles are played by Vivien Rujder, Franciska Törőcsik, Ernő Fekete, and László Gálffi, but the series also features international actors such as Laurence Rupp, Murathan Muslu, Giancarlo Giannini, and Karel Roden.
