A new bathing spot will open on the Danube in the capital. The Duna-fürdő Árasztó-part is scheduled to welcome bathers from noon after its opening on August 12. With the creation of the new free beach, the capital aims to make the Danube riverbank a natural part of everyday life for Budapest residents once again.
As a result of a long process, this summer there will be another place to swim in the Danube. On the initiative of the capital, the Budapest Gyógyfürdői és Hévizei Zrt. (BGYH), the Local Government of Budapest’s 11th District Újbuda and the VALYO Association have joined forces to create the Duna-fürdő Árasztó-part free beach.
The aim of the Duna-fürdő Árasztó-part is to offer the capital’s residents a new, safe, and freely accessible bathing area where they can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city and the proximity of nature at the same time.
The beach is located in the 11th district, on the Árasztó shore, and is easily accessible by public transport, bus 33, or by bike on the designated bike path on the embankment. Bike storage is also available at the beach.
According to plans, the beach will be open every day from August 12 to 31, 2025, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., depending on the weather, water level, and water quality.
