Light & Sound Festival Will Bring the Walls of Tihany Abbey to Life

Hungary Today 2025.07.29.

The picturesque settlement of Tihany, on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, will host a two-day cultural event on August 1 and 2, combining live music with light projections in a setting known for one of the most iconic panoramic views in Hungary, Turizmus.com reports.

Tihany Light & Sound, a free-to-attend mini-festival, will take place in I András Square, in front of the Tihany Benedictine Abbey, offering visitors a special weekend of musical performances and visual art. The centerpiece of the festival is the Tihany Benedictine Abbey, a centuries-old landmark.

After sunset each night, the abbey’s façade will become a “canvas,” featuring colorful animations set to atmospheric background music.

The event is designed to highlight the natural and architectural beauty of the area while providing an engaging summer experience for locals and tourists alike. The projections will be paired with special lighting installations throughout the surrounding park, enhancing the evening atmosphere.

Musical performances begin in the evening and continue into the night. On Friday, the program includes the Csaba Hideg–István Fekete Duo, Zoltán Fekete, and the Sons Of Silence Trio. On Saturday, attendees can expect sets from the One Man Band, the New Horizont Duo, and another performance by the Sons Of Silence Trio.
