The Valley of Arts festival officially opens this Friday and will welcome visitors until July 27, with around 3,000 programs ranging from visual arts to contemporary circus and music in Kapolcs (western Hungary).

In 2025, three neighboring villages, located in the Lake Balaton area (Kapolcs, Tálindörögd, Vigántpetend) are hosting the festival, making up a total of 40 venues for this year’s exhibitions, theater, circus, and dance performances, as well as classical and pop music concerts.

Several new venues will be featured this year, such as the Roma Udvar, giving insight to the traditions of the gypsy culture and a theatrical, cultural center called Buda Udvar, where the diverse culture of District II will be showcased.

Literature will also be present, introducing the legacy of renowned, 20th century Hungarian poet with a tragic life, Attila József, during an evening dedicated to his works.

While in the afternoons, there will be talks and meetings with the audience for those interested in music, and popular contemporary Hungarian bands such as Elefánt, Carson Coma, the Bagossy Brothers Company, Quimby, Bohemian Betyars, Margaret Island, and Blahalouisiana will also be playing on the main stage in Kapolcs.

The World Music Courtyard welcomes visitors this year in cooperation with a new partner, the Hungarian House of Music, featuring folk inspired musical adventures by bands such as the Kerekes Band, and the Borbély & Dresch Quartet.
