The domestic market for new passenger cars grew by 4.3 percent to 65,098 units in the first half of 2025.
According to Zoltán Gombos, managing director of BMW Group Hungary, the brand’s success is due to its model range, which represents the manufacturer’s technological openness and offers alternatives for almost every need, including electric, plug-in hybrid, and internal combustion engine models. At the same time, dealers are finding that, in addition to the new models, customers are also showing keen interest in traditional limousine, touring, coupé, and grand coupé body styles.
The announcement highlights that the brand also had a strong first half of the year in the purely electric vehicle segment: the 503 registered BEV models account for more than 15 percent of total BMW sales. This makes BMW the third most popular brand on the Hungarian electric vehicle market in the first half of this year.

The BMW Group’s offering will be defined by the Neue Klasse models in the future, emphasized the managing director of BMW Group Hungary. The announcement notes that MINI, the manufacturer’s other brand, has been well received in Hungary with its recently revamped model range.
Between January and June, 399 units of the new model family found buyers, an 87 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
