Dániel Böde, striker for Hungarian Cup winners and OTP Bank League league bronze medalists Paksi FC, has become the oldest top scorer in the history of Hungarian football’s top flight, Nemzeti Sport reported.
The 38-year-old center forward finished the 2024/25 OTP Bank League season with 15 goals. The last time the top scorer in the top flight achieved this with this many goals was in 1991, and in the last 50 years, only András Radó has scored fewer goals in a season, with 13 in 2020. For the fourth time in the last five seasons, the Tolna-based team provided the top scorer: János Hahn in 2021, Ádám Martin in 2022, and Barnabás Varga in 2023.

Previously, Böde managed to win the title in the 2015/16 season with 17 goals for Budapest team Ferencváros (the current winner of the top flight). Behind Dániel Böde, the second top scorer was Marin Jurina (MTK) and Donát Bárány (DVSC) with 13 goals respectively. Third place went to Barnabás Varga (Ferencváros), Barna Tóth (Paks), Brandon Domingues (DVSC), and Zsolt Nagy (Puskás Academy), all with 12 goals.
