Will Smith wrote in Hungarian on his Instagram page, “hamarosan találkozunk!” (see you soon). The actor-rapper is returning to the Hungarian capital after six years, reported Világgazdaság.

The Grammy-winning singer and Oscar-winning actor Will Smith will perform at Budapest Park this summer, the organizers announced. Smith recently announced his Based on a True Story summer tour, which has now added a stop in Budapest. The tour is in celebration of his new album of the same name, released last Friday after a 20-year hiatus.

The concert will feature songs from the Based on a True Story album, as well as big hits like “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It,” “Miami,” and “Summertime.”

The recently released 14-track album includes several guest stars, including Dj Jazzy Jeff, Teyana Taylor, Jac Ross, and Fridayy. On his first solo tour, Smith will visit Morocco, Europe, and major cities in the United Kingdom this summer, as well as perform at several international festivals.

The star mentioned his Budapest concert in a separate post. The reason for this is that

Smith will perform in Budapest on August 14, for the second time, having previously held a birthday concert in front of St. Stephen’s Basilica in September 2019.

However, this year’s concert will be his first official performance as part of a tour. During one of his previous visits, the actor-rapper filmed his movie Gemini Man in Budapest, which significantly promoted the city, and the film’s world premiere was held at the Buda Castle.

The American production worked in Hungary from October 2017, to the end of 2018, over four production periods. Smith frequently captured moments from his time in the country, and the capital appeared several times in international media, including when he filmed a video from the top of the Chain Bridge or when he broadcast live from a hotel on the Danube promenade for an American morning show.

Additionally, the anthem for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, “Live It Up,” performed by Nicky Jam and Will Smith, was also filmed in Budapest, with key locations including the K-Bridge, the Great Market Hall, and Madách Square.
