As part of a competition organized by the Grand Coalition of Motorists (ANK), Zöldjárműipar.hu and Járműipar.hu, the Cupra Terramar won the Hungarian Car of the Year 2025 award and the Suzuki Vitara won the Audience Award.
63 cars from 26 brands were nominated for the competition, and in the final 42 models competed for the Hungarian Car of the Year 2025 award, while 19 models competed for the Green Car of the Year 2025 award, sponsored by the Hungarian Mobility Development Agency (HUMDA) Green.
In the Hungarian Car of the Year competition, the jury selected the winners in seven categories.
The importers and car manufacturers nominated their plug-in hybrids and fully electric cars in three categories for the Green Car of the Year 2025 competition:
Audi Hungaria won the main prize for the third time in the history of the award. This time the Cupra Terramar (produced in Győr) took the prize.
According to the announcement, all 63 nominated cars were in the running for the Audience Award 2025. The winner was the Suzuki Vitara, ahead of the Suzuki Swift and the Ford Explorer. More than five thousand people took part in the online vote that took place in February and March. Suzuki has already won this award three times, most recently with the S-Cross.

The jury also awarded this year’s “Car PR Professional of the Year” prize to Bence Horváth, Communications and PR Director of RN Hungary – the Hungarian importer of the Renault, Dacia, and Alpine brands.
The award ceremony will take place on May 23, during the GreenTech 2025 conference at the ZalaZONE test track. You can find the full list of award winners here, with the scores for each vehicle also publicly available.
