The estimated market value of several key players in the Hungarian national football team has increased in the latest update of Transfermarkt‘s database. Team captain Dominik Szoboszlai’s value has increased by €5 million to €80 million, while Milos Kerkez’s has risen by €7 million to €35 million, writes Világgazdaság.

The past few weeks have not been happy ones for Hungarian football fans, as the national team lost both of their March matches against Türkiye in the Nations League and were knocked out of League A. Still, it is positive news for the team that the market value of several players has increased significantly in the latest update of the leading portal Transfermarkt. Dominik Szoboszlai is still considered the most valuable, with the national team captain receiving a price tag of €80 million, an increase of €5 million.

Szoboszlai was signed by Liverpool for €75 million in the summer of 2023, and the midfielder has managed to maintain that figure ever since, which is not surprising given his on-field performances.

The 25-year-old has quickly established himself as a key man for Liverpool under Jürgen Klopp, and has performed consistently well for the most part when not hampered by injuries. His place in the squad has not wavered since the change of manager last summer, and he has enjoyed the full confidence of Arne Slot, scoring important goals in several games in recent months. The national team’s captain is reportedly enjoying his time at the club, and has repeatedly stressed his ambition to win titles and trophies for the team.

Alongside Szoboszlai, the biggest increase in value has been for Milos Kerkez, who is now worth €35 million, up seven million from €28 million.

The left-back, currently at Bournemouth, is reportedly likely to change clubs this summer, and there is a good chance that he will be Dominik Szoboszlai’s teammate at Liverpool. According to Football Insider, the young athlete has already told his friends that he wants to join the Reds, who have started negotiations for a transfer, with the 21-year-old left-back’s rights to the club realistically worth between €40-50 million.

The estimated market value of most members of the Hungarian national team squad has not changed. Tamás Nikitscher has managed to increase his value, currently standing at €1 million, up from €900,000. He was signed by Real Valladolid in LaLiga at the end of January, and the Spanish team could have paid around the same amount for him.
