Fact

Automotive proving grounds (or test tracks) serve the automotive industry for road vehicle testing. ZalaZONE, operated by AVL, is a high-tech automotive proving ground, built on a 250-hectare area next to Zalaegerszeg. It is specifically designed for development and validation tests of autonomous and electric vehicles, but also serves dynamics and durability tests of conventional vehicles.

The Chinese partners were informed about the functioning of technological platforms related to the Hungarian high-tech industry, in particular about the CCIC’s focus on artificial intelligence competence and its strategic, scientific, legal, and technological environment in Hungary.

The focus of the meeting was on the implementation of Chinese manufacturers’ European approval tasks at ZalaZONE,

with a special focus on self-driving systems equipped with advanced driver assistance systems and controlled by artificial intelligence, the ministry said.
