Two people injured in a fire in the town of Kočani in North Macedonia on Sunday morning are being treated at the North Pest Center Hospital – Honvédkórház, both suffering from burns and smoke inhalation, the institution informed MTI.
According to the statement, the government of North Macedonia has requested international assistance for the treatment of the injured after a fire in a nightclub in Kočani on Sunday morning. Hungary offered to take over 19 patients, on the basis of which two patients arrived at the Budapest hospital at dawn on Monday.
The injured are being treated in the central anesthesia and intensive therapy department, one of them in life-threatening condition and the other in serious condition.
The hospital added that further injured patients may arrive in Hungary, and the Velkey László Children’s Health Center and Bethesda Children’s Hospital may also take over their care. “Hungary is committed to providing assistance to those in need within the framework of international health cooperation,” the statement emphasized.

As Hungary Today reported earlier, the government of North Macedonia declared a week of mourning on Sunday after
a fire broke out in a nightclub overnight, killing 59 people and injuring 155 others.
In the chaos caused by the fire at 3 a.m. on Sunday, several people were trampled to death as they fled. Several members of the R&B band DNK, who was playing at the time of the incident, as well as backup musicians and vocalists, were hospitalized. According to the director of the hospital in Kočani, the victims are between 14 and 24 years old and several of the injured are in serious condition, so the death toll could rise.
