Hungarian Construction Company Expands with New Factory in Romania

MTI-Hungary Today 2025.03.07.

The more successful Hungarian companies are abroad, the stronger the Hungarian economy will be, said Levente Magyar, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, on Thursday in the Transylvanian village of Moldovenești (Várfalva), at the inauguration ceremony of the new production unit of KÉSZ Romania.

The factory is the first production unit of the KÉSZ Group in Romania that has been present on the Romanian market for more than 20 years. The 4,500 square meter modern industrial facility, located near Turda (Torda) is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery. These are suitable for the production of metal and auxiliary structures, air ducts, and profiles. The factory has been designed to be able to expand with additional manufacturing capacity to meet changing market needs.

Levente Magyar said that

this is the first in a series of projects to be implemented by Hungarian companies with the support of the Hungarian government in Romania.

According to the State Secretary, the whole nation can be proud of the KÉSZ Group, a Hungarian construction company that has achieved great success abroad, even under the toughest market conditions. The inauguration of the new production hall is an important milestone of this international presence, he noted, adding that the company is successful in Romania, despite the fierce competition in the construction industry.

This production hall is a symbol of the Hungarian government’s efforts to strengthen the presence of Hungarian companies in the Carpathian Basin, beyond Hungary’s borders,”

he pointed out. The Hungarian government, he said, is helping Hungarian companies invest abroad. In Romania, such projects are worth a total of 130 billion forints (326 million euros), he noted.

The factory in Romania has gone from contract to construction in less than three years, and production will start soon,

he added.

Tamás Vida, CEO of KÉSZ Holding Zrt, said that KÉSZ Romania, established in 2001, is the most successful foreign unit of the KÉSZ Group, confirming the justification for the group’s international expansion. Today, it has almost 200 employees and is present not only in the building construction market, but also in the real estate development market through its projects in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca (Kolozsvár). Among the works carried out by the company, he mentioned the renovation of St. Michael’s Church in Cluj-Napoca, which was awarded the Europa Nostra prize, the restoration of the Kálnoky Castle in Valea Crișului (Sepsikőröspatak), and the construction of the Kovasna Spa.

He stressed that

the new factory will be a new line of business, the production of metal and steel structures. The investment, with a total cost of 1.8 billion forints (4.5 million euros), was made with the support of the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA).

According to István Albu, director of KÉSZ Romania, the Hungarian company is identified in Romania with reliability and quality, and to survive in the face of difficulties it needed reliable partners. He said that the factory employs 16 people working on more than 30 machines and equipment, a number that will be further increased in the future.

KÉSZ Group is one of Hungary’s most technology-driven and innovative construction-focused groups with one of the broadest portfolios. In addition to the construction industry, it is present in a number of other industries, such as industrial technology, energy and logistics, and real estate development.
