Construction of One Hundred New Factories to Start This Year

Hungary Today 2025.02.24.

Despite the global financial crisis, the coronavirus pandemic, war and the resulting sanctions policy, the Hungarian economy has managed to emerge successful from every crisis, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a video posted on his Facebook page on Sunday.

The minister pointed out that more Hungarians had jobs after the pandemic than before, and that a record 4.7 million people were currently working in Hungary. “However, these jobs must be protected in this international environment and new jobs must be created continuously to ensure that Hungarian families have a predictable life and a secure livelihood. This can be achieved by bringing more and more investment to Hungary, by building more and more factories in Hungary,” he stressed.

This year, the construction of 100 new factories will start. We have already partially concluded the necessary agreements with Hungarian and foreign companies and negotiations are well underway,”

Péter Szijjártó emphasized. The news was first announced by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in his state of the nation speech on Saturday.

The Foreign Minister recalled that the past two years have been the most successful in the history of the Hungarian economy in terms of investment promotion, as the government has been able to conclude agreements on more than €10 billion of new investment coming to Hungary in both 2023, and 2024.
