MTI-Hungary Today 2025.02.19.

The 15th Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) attracted a record 6,000 visitors, announced the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA). Budapest Central European Fashion Week has become one of the region’s most important fashion events in recent years, and the 15th season celebrated Central European fashion with a more colorful program than ever before, as well as with new international collaborations between February 10-16.

The anniversary event attracted a record number of visitors: 6,000 people attended the fashion shows and presentations, and international journalists, distributors, and fashion experts from 13 countries came to discover regional and Hungarian talent. Alongside the autumn-winter collections of nearly 50 fashion brands, emerging talents and renowned fashion icons were also spotlighted, the HFDA’s statement said.

Seeing the continuous development over the past 15 seasons, I believe that BCEFW has achieved its initial goal of becoming the region’s leading fashion event, bridging the gap between the domestic and global fashion worlds. This in turn can create opportunities for the whole creative industry in the future,”

the statement quotes Zsófia Jakab, Ministerial Commissioner for the Development and Sectoral Coordination of the Creative Industries and CEO of HFDA.

The HFDA, in addition to supporting the domestic and regional fashion scene, has taken significant steps in the field of international cooperation and has further expanded its strategic partnerships with agencies organizing fashion weeks in neighboring countries. As a result, in addition to Hungarian fashion brands, collections from Czech, Slovak, Serbian, Slovenian, Romanian, and Polish brands were also showcased at the 15th BCEFW.

In total, 27 Hungarian and 20 international designers presented their work to a full house, with more than 500 collections on the catwalks,

according to the statement.
