Péter Szijjártó said that this investment is already an important result of the Hungarian-American economic cooperation entering a new era, which gives Hungary the opportunity to be at the forefront of the great artificial intelligence revolution.
We think that these changes will give Hungary and the United States the opportunity to enjoy a golden age of Hungarian-American relations, and a very important pillar of this is the new type of effective and active economic cooperation, the development of which has always been on the agenda of the talks between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.”
He stressed that this comes at a time when digitalization and artificial intelligence are taking hold on an unprecedented scale.
“And the United States is clearly one of the leading forces in this transition to a completely new era (…) Our goal as Hungarians is to be as closely linked to all of this as possible, to build the closest possible Hungarian-American economic cooperation in this critical period, because this will provide Hungarian companies, Hungarian professionals and, through them, the entire Hungarian economy with the opportunity to be at the forefront of this great and comprehensive technological revolution,” the Minister highlighted.
Péter Szijjártó underlined that currently 1,200 American companies employ 100,000 people in Hungary, and that in the last ten years 140 American investments have been made in Hungary with financial support from the government, creating about 19,000 new jobs.
