Eszter Vitályos, the government spokesperson, confirmed the meeting on her social media page, stressing that “we share the same values and believe in similar policies.” “God, country, and family are core values for all conservatives, because they form the foundation of our society and the compass for all our endeavors. This is what unites us, true Americans, true Hungarians, and true patriots worldwide,” she noted.
Our political communities have the same goal: to put our own country first. Let us make America and Europe great again,”
concluded the spokeswoman.
Elon Musk has been a major and important contributor to the Republican politician’s election campaign, and just a month ago, it was revealed that he will head the Department of Government Efficiency. The Tesla founder and owner of SpaceX and X also attended Trump’s meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier in the day.
In addition, it has also been known for a few weeks that Republican Congressman Mike Waltz of Florida will be Trump’s national security adviser. It is therefore not hard to imagine that the U.S. and Hungarian politicians discussed the current geopolitical situation, and it is not excluded that the Russian-Ukrainian war was also on the agenda. At this point, it is worth recalling that Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, was in Moscow just a week ago, where he also held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reminds Portfolio.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó and Gellért Jászai, President of 4iG, also took part in the talks. “A nice afternoon in Mar-a-Lago: a long conversation with Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Mike Waltz,” the politician wrote on his social networking site.
Furthermore, the minister shared a video on his Facebook page from Florida, urging some journalists and politicians to exercise restraint in Mar-a-Lago in relation to the spreading of fake news, pointing out that in a hot situation they could easily endanger Hungary.
The politician highlighted the ongoing dangers in Syria, where terrorism is rampant, stressing that misinformation can pose serious risks to Hungarian interests and citizens, both domestically and abroad.
He noted that Hungary’s embassy in Syria had been evacuated in time, but spreading false reports could have invited attacks, particularly against the Syrian embassy in Budapest.
“This is not Fortnite; it is reality,” he said, emphasizing the potential for misinformation to create significant harm. He called on Hungarian journalists and politicians to consider the risks of their actions, urging restraint to prevent dangerous outcomes. While no tragedies occurred this time, he warned of the severe consequences reckless behavior could bring.
The minister expressed hope that lessons had been learned, urging all parties to avoid repeating such irresponsible actions in the future.
