There is No Support Behind the Anti-family Propaganda, Says FIDESZ MEP

Hungary Today 2024.11.28.

“A child is not a commodity. Motherhood is not a commercial service. We cannot change our gender. Sexual propaganda has no place in schools,” said András László, a Fidesz-KDNP MEP and member of the Patriots for Europe group, during the European Parliament’s plenary debate on LGBTQ issues.

András László highlighted: “There is no broad social support behind the anti-woman and anti-family left-wing propaganda. That is why the European Commission and the left are trying to impose their will on the member states through court decisions. We will not let this happen!” the MEP said.

András László pointed out: “The fundamental unit of every society, every nation is the family. That is why, quite rightly, family policy, socio-political issues, child protection and education policy fall under national, not EU, competence,” said the MEP.

In his speech, András László emphasized: “In Hungary, laws regulate motherhood and families that have great social support. Our child protection measures were supported by a unanimous majority of Hungarians in a referendum. Their message is clear: hands off our children!”

In response to the false accusations against the Hungarian child protection law, András László reminded the left-wing MEPs: “Article 14 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union is clear. It is a national competence and it is the right of parents to choose the values of their child’s upbringing.”
