Dominik Szoboszlai has been a key player for Liverpool for almost a year and a half now, and the Hungarian star has set himself some bold but realistic goals, writes Magyar Nemzet. He wants to win the Premier League and the Champions League with his team. So far this season, Szoboszlai and his team have been great, with Pool winning nine of their ten matches – all of which the Hungarian captain has played in – and the midfielder has already scored his first goal in this season’s Champions League.
In 2023, Dominik Szoboszlai joined Liverpool, where he has now become a key player. The captain of the Hungarian national football team makes no secret of his ambitions with the Reds: to win the Premier League and the Champions League. In an interview with the Men in Blazers‘ YouTube channel, the midfielder said that he considers these goals to be absolutely realistic.
“I want to win the Champions League. When I was a kid, first I wanted to hear the anthem on the field, then I wanted to score. Then I wanted to be a national-team player, then I wanted to be a captain of the national team. I did all of them.
Now, as I am playing in the Premier League of course I want to win the Premier League with Liverpool. And I want to win the Champions League as well. So, I have big goals but I put goals to myself that are realistic,”
reads Szoboszlai’s interview, which was also reviewed by the football club’s official website.
The 23-year-old is in his second season at Liverpool, where he finds it very difficult to get into the starting line-up. However, if someone gets the chance, he has an even bigger task ahead of him, and he has to keep his place.

When asked about what advice he would give to his childhood self to achieve his dream of turning professional, the midfielder noted: “It is not only the stuff you are doing on the field. The hardest thing is mentally, the hardest thing is to leave your parents and your friends when you were 14.” However, Szoboszlai stressed that
he had to prove himself in training, as he was not the only one who wanted to be a player for a real star club, in this case Liverpool.

He continued the interview saying that: “if you come to Liverpool, it is not like you have a fixed place in the team, so you have to work that you get into the team, to get your minutes, to play well, to score goals. So, it is a long journey,” emphasized Szoboszlai, who has played in all ten games for Liverpool this season and has left the pitch as a nine-time winner, scoring against AC Milan in the renewed Champions League.
