On Tuesday morning, the National Toll Payment Services Plc (NÚSZ) officially announced the 2025 motorway vignette prices for Hungary, reports Világgazdaság.
The reason for the announcement is that the August inflation data became known yesterday.
The rule is that the inflation rate between January and August is used to calculate the price changes for Hungarian tolls for the following year.
Accordingly, the e-vignette prices valid from January 1, 2025 are as follows:
All charges are gross and include VAT (the current conversion rate between forint and euro: EUR 1 = HUF 397). For motorcycles, annual national and annual regional vignettes can be purchased as a D1 category product. It is also worth noting that the surcharges have changed in line with the price of the motorway vignettes.
Surcharge rates from January 1, 2025:
In addition, the surcharge differential (i.e. if you have a motorway vignette but the wrong category) will also increase from January 1, 2025 as follows:
A comparison with next year’s prices shows that the 10-day weekly entitlement in category D1 will increase from HUF 6,400 to HUF 6,620. The annual price will rise from HUF 57,260 to HUF 59,210. The regional vignette price will change from HUF 6,600 to HUF 6,890.
This represents an increase of 3.4 percent.
The situation is similar for the surcharge. From September 1, 2024, the surcharge is HUF 25,770 for payments within 60 days and HUF 88,750 for payments after 60 days. This will therefore change to HUF 26,640 and HUF 91,780 from January 2025. This is also a rise of 3.4 percent.
