One of the most valuable Hungarian painters, József Rippl-Rónai’s painting Bathing Women, as well as masterpieces by the renowned Ödön Márffy and János Vaszary will be on display at the Füred Art Week, starting on Friday, with prominent auction houses and galleries presenting their classic works of art at the Balatonfüred Congress Center (northern shore of Lake Balaton).
At the first Füred Art Week, running until Sunday, art lovers will be able to see art sensations, including works worth tens and hundreds of millions of forints, and among the classic and contemporary works of art, paintings, sculptures, furniture, carpets and jewelry will be on display, the organizers said.
The Nemes Gallery is coming to the fair with János Vaszary’s 1928 painting Riding on the Lido. The painting shows women walking in brightly colored clothes, riders and a carriage with an umbrella on the plaza, and the valuable picture is full of light, movement and serenity, the organizers noted. The gallery is also showing Ödön Márffy’s painting Riders on the Waterfront (Riders by the Sea). The 1940 painting simultaneously shows the stillness of the tranquil waterfront landscape and the dynamism of the naked riders and their lively horses.
The Pintér Auction House will be present at the fair with one of the most valuable Hungarian painters, József Rippl-Rónai’s nude painting Bathing Women from 1910.
The painting is a typical and unique work of the artist’s “corn era.”
In addition to classic and contemporary artworks from renowned galleries and auction houses, the Füred Art Week will also feature artdisco and guided tours.
Among the exhibiting galleries are acb Gallery, BÁV ART, Bernabo Art Furniture, Equilor Fine Art, Horizont Gallery, LUMAS Gallery, NACO Gallery, Nemes Gallery, Neo Deco Gallery, the renowned Kor-Társ Gallery, Opera Antiques, Passage Gallery, Pintér Auction House, ProArt Frame, Random Art Gallery, Zsdrál Gallery and WOP Gallery.
