Shots were fired during a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. Although the Secret Service responded quickly, the former President had to be hospitalized reportedly with a non-life threatening injury.
The shooter has been identified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as 20-year-old Thomas Mathew Crooks, and has been detained by local authorities.
World leaders have been reacting to the shooting with messages of solidarity towards Donald Trump. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was among the first to send a personal message. Writing on his social media page he said that

The shots were reportedly fired from a nearby building. The investigation is still active and ongoing, and authorities are calling on anyone with information that may assist with the investigation to submit photos or videos online.
The incident comes only weeks after Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot several times by an attacker on May 15. The Slovak PM survived the incident but the investigation has focused on his security detail’s actions in not being able to prevent the attack. There is no doubt the U.S. Secret Service’s plans will also be reviewed after this serious breach of security that could have cost one of the presidential candidate’s life.
