Domestic companies’ drones, flying equipment and integrable sensors were presented to experts of the Hungarian Defense Forces at a professional event organized by the Defense Innovation Research Institute (VIKI) on July 1 and 2.
The two-day event at the Hajmásker Training Base (western Hungary) was aimed at facilitating the exchange of ideas and dialogue between civilian partners and military leaders, Honvedelem.hu reports.
In his opening speech, László Deme, Deputy State Secretary for Force Development and Defense Innovation, stressed that the role of drones in the 21st century is of paramount importance,
as there are countless operational activities that the armed forces can undertake, during which these autonomous devices can specifically increase efficiency.
At the event, nearly two dozen companies presented their own equipment, and soldiers were able to ask questions about the opportunities, discuss the progress of domestic companies, what direction they plan to take in their development, and how they can help the development of the armed forces. The manufacturers were also able to get to know each other and deepen their cooperation.
One of the key issues for the resilience of the country is the development of our own equipment, writes the Hungarian Defense Forces’ portal.
Drones are expected to be used on a massive scale in the future, therefore the use of locally produced equipment could play a key role.
Autonomy can be ensured with Hungarian knowledge and Hungarian technology, the portal adds.
The VIKI’s aim is that after the meeting that ended on Tuesday, the joint work will continue with practical professional discussions, where expectations can be transformed into tasks and tasks can bring success.
