The University of Miskolc (ME) and CATL Debrecen have signed a cooperation agreement that involves the company participating in student practical training, developing university curricula, and supporting the institution’s scientific and research activities.
This agreement will open new career opportunities for technical and engineering graduates in the battery and automotive industries. It encompasses a wide range of disciplines, with CATL contributing to ME’s programs in engineering, earth and environmental sciences, mechanical engineering, and computer science.
At the signing ceremony, Jason Chen, general manager of CATL’s European operations, stated that
the company aims to enhance the sustainability of transport in Europe and is relying on Hungarian talent to operate its facilities in Hungary.
According to the press release, ME’s objective is to become a leading teaching and research university regionally, nationally, and internationally, addressing the labor market needs for the coming decades. Zita Horváth, Rector of ME, emphasized that the university
must compete not only in the higher education sector but also for joint research projects with industry and companies.”
CATL’s factory in Debrecen is set to become one of the largest employers in eastern Hungary. With its long-term commitment to Hungary, the company considers it essential to be involved in workforce training and to support educational institutions.
