A new service road will be designed and built on behalf of the city in the southern industrial park of Kecskemét (central Hungary) near Main roads 5 and 54. The project is being undertaken by Duna Aszfalt Zrt, reports Magyar Építők, citing a call for tender published in the EU’s public procurement notice. The new road section will start from Barényi Béla Road and the total value of the development is HUF 1.316 billion (EUR 3.342 million) net.
The works will include the construction of a new junction, from which a new 850-meter-long track will be built perpendicular to Barényi Béla Road. The section will have three lanes: two lanes in the inbound direction and a 3.75-meter wide lane in the outbound direction, with a turning area for trucks at the end.
The project will also create new logistical links to the neighboring SMP (Samvardhana Motherson Peguform) automotive factory and the Mercedes factory, which is currently expanding, both of which will have several new truck entrances. A bus platform will also serve the new road and the industrial park.
In addition, a further 3.5-meter wide, undivided footpath and cycle path will be built, also connecting to the cycle path on Barényi Béla Road.
