Balázs Orbán, the Prime Minister’s Political Director, cited a survey published by Pew Research on his X social media account, highlighting the significance of customs and traditions for Hungarians.
Conducted across 23 countries, the survey explored attitudes towards traditions and national identity.
Notably, Hungary, along with Mexico, Indonesia, and Poland, emerged with over 90 percent of respondents considering these values important.
The influence of religious and political views are apparent, with Catholics and conservative individuals showing a tendency to prioritize these customs. Moreover, older adults across many countries express greater attachment to traditions compared to younger generations. Despite a slight decline in recent years, shared customs and traditions remain an important aspect of societal identity.
