At an event of the Economic Innovation Partnership Program (EIPP), experts from South Korea and Hungary discussed the potential of Hungarian-South Korean technology and knowledge transfer in Budapest on Tuesday, reports Világgazdaság.
The Hungarian coordinator of the EIPP program is the Ministry for National Economy, represented by Szabolcs Szolnoki, Deputy State Secretary for Technology, who spoke on behalf of the Ministry. In his speech, he stressed that the government’s policy of opening up to the East has been successful, and thanks to this, Hungary has already established cooperation projects and investment programs with several Asian countries.
He recalled that in 2021, South Korea was the largest investor in Hungary with HUF 1,000 billion (EUR 2.5 billion) worth of investments, creating some 20,000 new jobs in Hungary. He added that Hungary and the relevant ministries of the Republic of Korea signed a cooperation agreement in April 2022.
The Hungarian-South Korean program will enable Hungarian researchers and experts to participate in even more scientific and innovative technological projects,
the Deputy State Secretary concluded.
