From January, the average salary of teachers is expected to rise by 32.2 percent, according to a new video posted by the Prime Minister on his social media page, reflecting the remarks made at his international press conference before Christmas.
The government wants to implement a three-year pay improvement program from January 1, 2024 as visible in February wages. There will be smaller but more significant increases from January 1, 2025, and 2026.
At the completion of the wage increase program, the average salary of teachers will be 800,000 forints (EUR 2,000),”
the Prime Minister said, adding that there will be differences according to certain factors. The expected wages are based on averages, performance, and geographical location.
