Ryanair Announces New Route between Budapest and Italy

Hungary Today 2023.12.12.

Irish low-cost airline Ryanair is to launch daily flights between Milan Malpensa Airport, Italy and Budapest from the end of March, while maintaining its 12 weekly flights to Bergamo, reports AIRportal.hu.

Ryanair has added the new Budapest route to its booking system for next summer’s timetable. In addition, the airline has recently announced that it will also operate flights to the island of Skiathos from Budapest next year. Between the beginning of June and the end of September next year, Ryanair will operate two flights a week on Mondays and Fridays between Budapest and Skiathos.

Flights between Milan Malpensa Airport and Budapest Airport will operate seven days a week from March 31, 2024.

According to the airline’s booking system, the Bergamo route will of course be maintained. The Irish low-cost carrier will operate 12 flights a week (weekday mornings and evenings, Saturday afternoons and Sunday evenings) to the Milan Bergamo Airport – a key airport in Ryanair’s network in the region – from Budapest in the summer timetable.

This will give Wizz Air direct competition on the Budapest-Malpensa route, on which the Hungarian low-cost airline operates 11 flights per week in the summer timetable.

Ryanair said at the end of November that it had launched its 2024 summer schedule, offering 3 million seats to Hungarians and travelers to Hungary, but at that time the new routes were not yet available in the booking system.
