Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has traveled to Switzerland for talks with the country’s leaders in Bern on Tuesday, and a political speech in Zurich on Wednesday, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief, announced in a statement.
The Hungarian delegation includes János Bóka, Minister for European Union Affairs, Márton Nagy, Minister for Economic Development, and Balázs Orbán, Political Director to the Prime Minister. On Tuesday, Viktor Orbán held talks with Swiss President Alain Berset and Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.

The talks focused on Hungarian-Swiss bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and the Hungarian EU Presidency plans for next year.
In addition, they also reviewed international security challenges and the situation in war-torn areas such as Ukraine and the Middle East.

Alain Berset reported on the meeting on his social media page, writing: “Ignazio Cassis and I discussed about our European policy and Hungary’s EU presidency with Viktor Orbán. Regarding the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, we emphasized the importance of international humanitarian law and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) as a platform.”
During his visit to Switzerland, the Hungarian Prime Minister also met with Joseph Blatter, former president of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), on Tuesday, and they had an informal discussion on the current events and the state of their “common passion:” football.

On Wednesday in Zurich,
Viktor Orbán will give a speech at the 90th anniversary celebrations of the prestigious Swiss conservative weekly Weltwoche.
The event will include a panel discussion moderated by the editor-in-chief of Weltwoche, Swiss People’s Party MEP Roger Köppel.
