Transfermarkt, the market value website for footballers, has updated the price of Dominik Szoboszlai. The captain of the Hungarian national team is now worth EUR 70 million, making him the second most valuable player in Liverpool’s squad. Szoboszlai has moved ahead of the team’s biggest star, Mohamed Salah, in the rankings.
As Magyar Nemzet reported, Transfermarkt updated the value of Dominik Szoboszlai on October 9. This was revealed at the time by the site’s international head of valuation, Christian Schwarz. Now that the Hungarian footballer is a stable starter in one of the Premier League’s top teams, and if his progress remains unbroken, his value will surely increase further, the first step of which is the October correction.
Dominik Szoboszlai’s new market value is EUR 70 million, just what Liverpool paid for him to go to Leipzig in the summer.
This makes the 22-year-old Hungarian midfielder the second most valuable player in the English starlet’s squad, with only Colombian winger Luis Díaz, valued at EUR 75 million, worth more.
Szoboszlai is now ahead of Liverpool’s biggest star, Mohamed Salah, and his new best friend, England international Trent Alexander-Arnold, who are both worth EUR 65 million. Interestingly, Szoboszlai is already worth twice as much as Liverpool’s Dutch player Virgil van Dijk and Brazilian star goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who are both valued at EUR 35 million.
In Transfermarkt‘s recent update, only Szoboszlai has increased in value among Liverpool’s key players. Alexis Mac Allister, who was signed alongside him in the summer, remained at the EUR 65 million price tag. It is also a sign that the Hungarian’s performance in a short space of time has proved that he was worth the EUR 70 million Liverpool paid for him as the third most expensive signing in the club. Only Van Dijk (EUR 84.65 million) and Núñez (EUR 80 million) received more from the English club.

The Hungarian national team’s head coach, Marco Rossi, recently said that Szoboszlai is not yet a top player because he needs to score more goals.
However, the value of the new striker suggests that Szoboszlai is already a top-class player.
Liverpool’s Hungarian favorite has already been ranked among the 50 most valuable footballers in the world (42nd), and is the 21st most valuable midfielder. Among footballers aged 23 or under, he is 19th regardless of position, and if we look only at midfielders, he is 10th.
