The Hungarian Reformed Church Aid is providing humanitarian aid to earthquake-stricken Morocco. The first delegation of the organization flew to Marrakesh on Sunday to support families with durable food and hygiene products, and to plan further assistance by assessing local needs.
The team is on the ground delivering tons of donations to the areas most affected by the earthquake. The charity is also launching a fundraising campaign in support of its mission in the North African country.
We are not specializing in dog searches or missing people searches now, we are planning to provide humanitarian aid to the victims of the earthquake who are in need these days,”
said executive director Márton Juhász. He added that the donated goods will not be exported from home but will be purchased in Morocco and delivered in hired vehicles, typically durable food and hygiene equipment.

In addition to the donations, local needs are being assessed.
Moreover, the organization’s Research and Rescue Team is already on standby if needed, just as they were in February after the earthquakes in Turkey.
They wrote that the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid is also launching a nationwide fundraising campaign to contribute to the relief efforts in Morocco. Calling the donation line 1358 or sending the word ADOMANY via SMS will mean a donation of HUF 500 (EUR 1.30), but you can also support the Moroccan relief effort online via the website www.adomany.jobbadni.hu or by bank transfer via the foundation’s bank account number 10702019-85008898-51100005 (subject: Morocco). The Hungarian Reformed Charity Service will use the donations received to compile and deliver humanitarian aid packages to the earthquake victims.
Several Hungarian leaders have expressed their condolences about the disaster.
László Kövér, Speaker of the Parliament, expressed his condolences to the leaders of the two houses of the Moroccan Parliament. He said he was deeply saddened to learn of the earthquake that had struck the kingdom, killing thousands of people and injuring many more. He emphasized that Hungary and the Hungarian Parliament stand by Morocco in this difficult time.
In a message posted on the X (formerly Twitter) platform on Saturday, President Katalin Novák expressed her condolences to King Mohammed VI of Morocco and his family and the people of the country for the deaths of those killed in the earthquake that struck Morocco overnight.
