Dominik Szoboszlai scored his first goal for Liverpool. The Hungarian football player gave an impressive performance against Aston Villa in the fourth round of the English football championship on Sunday, reports Hirado.hu.
The captain of the Hungarian national football team headed a pinpoint long-range shot into the net off Argentina’s world champion Emiliano Martinez in the third minute. Liverpool than doubled their lead with an own goal in the first half, while Egyptian Mohamed Salah made it 3-0 in the second half.
It is always a good feeling to win, especially at home, and of course I am very happy to score my first goal,”
stressed Szoboszlai after the match. The international striker added that he is getting more and more comfortable with his teammates and is confident that the harmony will improve in the future.

Responding to a journalist’s question, the Hungarian noted he was delighted that Salah, who had been lured to Saudi Arabia, had finally stayed with the club, as he is a fantastic footballer.
Szoboszlai is the fourth Hungarian goalscorer in the Premier League after Zoltán Gera, Tamás Priskin, and Ákos Buzsáky. Prior to that, Gera, who was then playing for West Bromwich Albion, scored the last Hungarian goal in the English top flight on December 22, 2012 against Norwich.
After the match, Liverpool’s manager Jürgen Klopp gave his assessment to the club’s website. On the Hungarian player he said: “A machine, huh? That’s now all four games. Pretty impressive, absolutely impressive. Tactically smart, absolutely ready for the dirty part of the game – meaning hard work where it is not the fancy stuff where they are shooting, crossing, running forward, stuff like this. No, he is really closing down opponents(…)
And what a goal! I saw it directly from behind. That was the cleanest strike I saw for a long time. And that was his slightly lesser-good foot. That was, again, a top performance.”
This is not the first time Szoboszlai has been praised because of his impressive performance. His contribution to Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth, when he played against Milos Kerkez, another Hungarian in the Premier League, was unquestionable and his performance was amazing. As a result, he was voted player of the match.
